Editorial standards
The Pond Street Ledger is a daily desk covering onchain finance: tokenized equities, real-world assets, and the chains and venues where they trade. Robinhood Chain is our flagship beat. This page is how we work, in enough detail that you can hold us to it.
We report facts and link out
Facts are not copyrightable; the prose describing them is. We write every story in our own words from the reporting of others, and we link to that reporting at the foot of each piece. We do not reproduce a source's headline, sentences or images.
Sources are resolved by index, not by memory
When a story is written, it identifies its sources by their position in the day's feed, and the publishing code maps those positions back to the exact article name and URL. A link therefore cannot be attached to a story it does not belong to, because no part of the writing process is trusted to remember a URL.
Every story is checked against its own sources before it publishes
A second, independent pass reads the finished story next to the material it cites and answers one question: is the central claim actually supported? Anything that is chiefly about a different company, chain or event than its sources describe is dropped rather than published. So is any story that states an unconfirmed token, airdrop or partnership as fact, contains a price target, or carries a figure that is neither in its sources nor attributed.
No price calls, no advice
We do not publish price targets, buy or sell suggestions, or 'top N to buy' lists. We report what happened and what it means. Nothing on this site is investment advice, and you should not treat it as any.
No airdrop links, ever
This beat is thick with scams built to look like news, including fake tokens and fake claim pages using real companies' names. We do not republish claim links or contract addresses from unverified sources, and unconfirmed token or airdrop claims are reported as claims, with the claimant named, or not at all.
Numbers are attributed
Where we cite total value locked, trading volume, fees or a floor price, the source is named on the page, with the time it was refreshed. Chain figures come from DefiLlama and NFT figures from CoinGecko unless a story says otherwise. When a figure is unavailable we print that it is unavailable rather than estimating one.
We will never ask you to connect a wallet
We sign readers in by email link and nothing else. The Ledger will never ask you to connect a wallet, sign a message, or approve a transaction, on this site or anywhere else. If something claiming to be us does, it is not us. We hold this rule because a signature prompt from a publication is indistinguishable from a drainer to a normal reader, and telling you ours is the safe one is exactly what a drainer would say.
Corrections are made in public
If we get something wrong, tell us and we will fix it on the page and note what changed. We would rather carry a visible correction than a quiet edit.
Who writes it
The paper is bylined by five correspondents, one per beat, and they are frogs. They are characters, not people: never quoted, never described as human, never the source of a fact. The copy is written with the help of a language model under the process described above, which we state plainly rather than implying a newsroom that does not exist. The desk explains this in full.
Independence
The Pond Street Ledger is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Robinhood Markets, Inc., or any other company it reports on. Company and product names are used to identify what we are writing about. We take no payment for coverage; if that changes, paid items will be labelled as paid.
